Interview with Mira Garland

Hi Mira! Thanks for stopping by today. When did you know that you wanted to be a writer?
Well I started writing as a hobby and realized it was somrhing I enjoyed. I always liked to write, just never knew this much.

Hobbies can definatelly open new worlds! What has been the most difficult thing about being a writer?

Trying to find time between four kids and work. It seems like there is never enough time in the day.

I know the feeling! Who are your favorite authors?

Well I have a lot but Cameo Renae, Ben Daniels, and Tabatha Vargo hold a special place in my heart.

I love Tabitha and Cameo too! Their books are amazing. What authors inspire you?

Jessica Park she is amazing to me.

I've never heard of her. I'll definatelly have to check her out now. Are you a plotter or a panster when you write?

Oh most definitely a plotter!!! 100%

Me too! What type of books do you like to read?

I love Young Adult and Paranormal. Although sometimes I like a little Erotica when times are right.

Erotica can be really good. :) What do you like to do in your free time?

Camping! I love to Camp. Also, just spending  time with my kids. They are my world.

Family is a big part of my life as well. Where is your favorite place to vacation?

Jelly Stone Park. I go all summer. It is an amazing place that the kids love and I have met amazing people at.

That sounds like a blast!  If you were stuck on a deserted island what three things would you bring? And, why?

HMM! Tough. I would have to say my Lap Top so I can write. (And Facebook). My Kindle so I can read, and a cell phone so I can get some one to come get me. LOL

A cell phone! Perfect idea. :) What has been the most fun about writing your books?

Meeting my characters. They have truly became friends which is weird.

That's not strange at all. We get to know our characters and, form attachments to them. What has been the most hardest scene for you to write?

A scene at a hospital where something really bad happens. (Don't want to give anything away). I had to go back into my past which is never easy for me.

That does sound tough! Do you have any favorite characters?

Jenny. She was so much fun to write. She is the best friend that I always wished I had.

Best friends are hard to find. Tell us a little bit about the world of Sudden Hope.

Well in a nut shell. It is the struggle of Celeste. Her five friends and love. A reminder to never lose hope.

Sudden Hope sounds amazing! I can't wait to read it. When can we expect this awesome book to be released? And will Sudden Hope be part of a series?

Well April 16th is what I'm shooting for. Fingers crossed. And we will have to see. It could be but let me get past this book first.

I'm sure that your readers are excited for its release! If you could have any super power what would it be and why?

To have the power to stop time. The possibilities would be endless.

Yes, they would! What's next for you?

Sleep! I haven't  done that in so long.

I know the feeling. Writing can keep you up for hours! Is there anything else that you want your readers to know?

I love you and appreciate you more then you could ever know!

I'm sure they love you too. :) What advice would you give to new writers?

You will want to give up at times. You will think you cant do it. You will lose faith in yourself. Just step back, relax and remember. Writing is a release. Not work.
Never give up. Never stop trying. And most importantly never lose hope.

That's great advice! Its been a pleasure having you here today Mira. Be sure to keep a look out for her book Sudden Hope coming in April.

Meet Mira:

I was born in Jackson, MI but now live on Long Island in NY. I have four beautiful daughters whom I live and breathe for. I began writing as a hobby, but realized very quickly that it was an outlet to explore my deepest dreams. I love to read and have a problem with honesty when I write reviews, although I do not have a problem if you tell me I'm wrong about it. My debut novel is “Sudden Hope” and will be released in April of 2013. Welcome to my reality and I hope all your dreams come true.

Book blurb:

When your nightmares become reality and you can’t wake up, what do you do?

Celeste is a normal teenage girl.
After the loss of her father her life seems to be in constant turmoil. She realizes her worst nightmares are occurring while she's still awake.
Just as it looks like her life is on the right path things go terribly wrong and leave her in a spiraling whirlwind of emotion.Trying to find her father’s killer and dealing with an ex that will do anything to get revenge; she feels like she is falling.
The only thing that is holding her together is her support system, her friends and Danny. Celeste loves Danny more than life itself, although now is just not the time to be with him. He is the answer to her dreams, he is her one true love, and most importantly, her hope.
Only life isn't fair and doesn't play by the rules.
